Alchemy
"Researching Alchemy through Visual Art Making"
Visual art has always maintained a multitude of definitions and purposes. One of the most significant elements of my work is that of investigation. This collection of works on paper exists as a form of art based research. This study hopes to examine and recompose the diagrams and visual symbols of Alchemy amongst my own framework of ciphers and imagery. By juxtaposing my forms with those of the Alchemist's, I am creating a visual discussion about the nature of examination, science, spirituality and art.
