Cutting Up
Printing with silkscreens has always brought me great pleasure. I have always seen this as an excellent way to begin a series. While producing these prints I would often paint onto the prints using the fresh ink still wet on the screen itself. So these prints are all varied, with a great deal of drawing and painting added to them.
Within these prints one may see houses, scissors, vessels, and toes. All of these images are personal references to the ending of one phase of my life. They are demonstrative of the emotional phantoms left within when something or someone is gone.
