Fields

My brother in law is a constant source of inspiration; as a philosopher and general inquisitor he is always in a position to present new and interesting perspectives. During the spring of 2007, Dr. Goodyear mentioned the work of Rupert Sheldrake to me. This extremely controversial scientist has proposed many theories on the human brain and its evolution.

Most intriguing to me is Sheldrake's theories on morphic fields. These theories (as I interpet them), suppose that human memory exists as a field beyond and around our physical bodies, and our brains work more as transmitters than storage banks. These theories are visually explored in my Field series. I have begun to create art that attempts to envision the invisible world of the filed, as it could possibly exist as memory or even conscience. I plan on continuing with this research via larger work in the near future.
